Hours after their meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC are presently in a closed door assembly with the chief John Odigie-Oyegun led national working Committee NWC of the party.
The governors had earlier within the day met with the president and resolved to jettison the outcome of the 4th national executive Committee NEC assembly of the party in February which requested the NWC to keep to work in acting capacity for the next 365 days.

“We consulted and all of the 24 governors of the APC are on the same page with Mr. President that we are going to recognize our party constitution, we're going to obey the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “So, consequently, we collectively agreed that we can have congresses at all levels – local, state and countrywide”, Zamfara state Governor, Abdulaziz Yari had instructed state house Correspondents. When the NWC inaugurated a 10-member technical committee to recommend it on the contentious issue of tenure elongation for party officers, the governors had met with the president to conform solutions to the challenges thrown up because of the difficulty. That Tuesday meeting was reportedly deadlocked, with the governors reconvening later in the night to adopt a common position earlier than assembly with the president Wednesday morning. amongst governors at the closed door meeting with the NWC is Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello, Oyo state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, Gov. Yari and a number of others.
