2018 FIFA World Cup: Don’t put Eagles under Tension , Okocha warns

Former super Eagles captain and midfielder, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha has warned Nigeria football officials and fans not  to set unrealistic goals in order to put the team under tension  in the 2018 FIFA world Cup event in Russia.

Okocha who was at 3 world Cup tournaments with the super Eagles said that the group D pairing is hard and it will be a brilliant achievement, if the Eagles advance to the knock out stage.

"it will be a massive achievement if you could get out of the group stage and and then anything can take place,” stated Okocha. “We need to be careful not to set unrealistic goals for the team.” Nigeria are drawn in the first round in opposition to Argentina, Croatia and Iceland. Okocha also told a special SuperSport television programme that playing for Nigeria was the top of his profession. “It doesn’t get any better to play for Nigeria. It was not for the cash, however the satisfaction to represent 160 million people is priceless. It turned into the top of my profession,” he stated. “soccer isn't only a recreation in Nigeria, it’s now not simply a part of the religion or the subculture, it is lifestyles. “it's far a great opportunity to remove poverty with football. “With football, we've got a voice.”
